What's the history of Lighthouse?
On August 8, 1998, Cooper River Baptist Church in North Charleston committed to establishing a new mission church "somewhere East of the Cooper River." One year later, Cooper River committed $100,000 and significant other resources to ensure the success of a new church in Mt. Pleasant.

God has blessed Lighthouse abundantly from its earliest days. He gathered together a strong core of people who were willing to sacrifice their time, money, and the comfort of attending an established church in order to reach those who don't know Christ. In February, March and April of 2000, monthly preview services for Lighthouse began in the cafeteria of Laing Middle School. Gifted and committed individuals from the area quickly became part of the founding core. Today, Lighthouse is a welcoming church in the 'new center' of fast-growing Mt. Pleasant.

What about my kids?
Children are incredibly important to us at Lighthouse. Our Children's Minister and Youth Minister have over 20 years combined experience in the organization and operation of safe, fun and Biblically-based programs for children. What's a typical Sunday like?
Sunday morning is Lighthouse's time to come together and fellowship, worship, learn, encourage and welcome. Our morning begins around 9:30 AM when the Worship Center opens for our Guest Connection...a time for guests to grab some
coffee while meeting folks and catching up on the week's activities. At 10:00 AM, our preschool and children and youth teaching programs begin and our worship service gets underway--including upbeat, contemporary worship and a relevant message. The entire church gathers at 11:00 AM for a time of church-wide connection in the Worship Center's cafe' area. As always, we'll be glad to help you determine the Sunday schedule that suits you (and your family) best, just touch base with us or check out the calendar page for times and locations.

How do I make connections at Lighthouse?
Lighthouse understands that meaningful connections between people are becoming less and less common. We strive to make connecting to our church easy. Please see the connection page for more information.

How are your church buildings situated?
Lighthouse utilizes three buildings to provide multiple ministry opportunities every Sunday and other days during the week. For the layout of our buildings and main areas of ministry, please see our facilities map.

Do you have mid-week activities?
Absolutely! In fact, Lighthouse's primary ministry tool is the small groups program (called Growth Groups) that gathers in homes and neighborhoods around the Lowcountry during the week. Additionally, the A242 Adults, children and youth have some mid-week activities. You can find all of Lighthouse's scheduled ministry times and dates on our calendar.

What's the music like?
The music at Lighthouse is contemporary, exciting, eclectic, and original. Our goal is to use music to its fullest extent to praise God and explain to every person that attends His importance in our lives. The focus of our praise is UPWARD in true worship, INWARD in commitment, and OUTWARD in sharing God's love. If you're interested in joining our Worship Teams please touch base with us. We'd love to talk further with you.

What should I wear?
Lighthouse is committed to creating a comfortable environment for people seeking a deeper understanding of God and His importance to them...we welcome all people. We also want people to be comfortable in what they wear, so you may see someone in a shirt and tie or in cutoffs and flip flops. We just want you to feel at home so wear what you want.

How do I find Lighthouse?
Lighthouse is conveniently located just off the intersection of Highway 17 North and Highway 41...right in the middle of the 'New Mt. Pleasant'. For a map to the church, click here.
